Privacy policy

In short: LedeSift keeps only what it needs to show you your feeds. No ads, no third-party trackers, nothing sold or shared. You can delete your account and everything in it at any time, from Settings.

Who we are

LedeSift is made by Taranetiks, Serbia, which is responsible for your data. Contact for anything about privacy: boris.tarana@taranetiks.rs.

What we store

Your account: email address, name, and the account id from Google or Apple that you sign in with; when the account was created and last used.
Your reading: the sources you follow, their folders and colors, which articles you have read or saved, and your settings (theme, layout).
Sign-ins: a session cookie on the website; in the apps, sign-in tokens with the device type (Android or iOS) and when they were last used.
Messages you send us through the contact form: name, email and the message.

We do not collect your location, contacts, or anything from other apps.

Why

To run the service you asked for: show your sources and articles on every device, remember what you read and saved, and answer your messages. Nothing is used for advertising or profiling.

Who else is involved

Google or Apple, only if you sign in with them. They confirm who you are and learn that you use LedeSift; their own privacy policies apply.
OVHcloud hosts the servers and the database in France (EU).
Publishers of your sources. Our server downloads feeds and article pictures for you, so publishers see our server, not you. When you open an article's full text, pictures and videos inside it load from the publisher's site, and "Open on site" takes you to their page: their privacy policy applies there.

Statistics

We count visits with Umami, which runs on our own server. It sets no cookies, does not follow you to other sites and does not identify you; we see totals such as page views, browser and country.

How long

Your account and reading data: until you delete the account.
Demo accounts: deleted automatically after one day.
App sign-ins: they expire after 90 days without use.
Encrypted backups: kept up to 30 days, so deleted data leaves them within 30 days.
Server logs (IP address, time, requested address): kept briefly for security and troubleshooting.

Your choices and rights

Export your sources, folders and colors: Settings → Sources & data → Download backup.
Delete your account and all of its data: Settings → Account → Delete account. More about deleting your account.
Ask us what we store about you, or to correct it, at boris.tarana@taranetiks.rs.
You can complain to the data protection authority: in Serbia the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection (poverenik.rs), or the authority where you live.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version appears on this page with a new date.
